There are 3 Kinds of college levels in France:

Back in France, greater education is organised in accord with the LMD platform (Licence-Master-Doctorat).  This program is normal to college education in most European countries as part of the Bologna process, such as France.

Licence (L1, L2, L3) is a undergraduate diploma awarded following an interval of study lasting 6 semesters (3 years).

Credits, once granted, cannot be removed: when a year needs to be retaken, the supported credits are kept the subsequent year along with the student need only retake the modules that were not supported the former calendar year.

Master (M1, M2) is a grad degree awarded following a period of research lasting two years (a total of five years’ study).

There are two kinds of Master’s: study Master’s, that empower pupils to advance to your Academic and Profession Master’s which prepare pupils for the area of work.

Each finished module yields a particular amount of ECTS credits.  30 credits need to confirm a session, and 60 to confirm an academic calendar year.

Each establishment is free to establish its own entrance criteria and create its admission decisions based on each candidate’s background and also the requirements of this programme to that the candidate is seeking admission.  This freedom enables French associations to make respectful, well-balanced pupil cohorts without denying the integrity and standing of the classes.

In the primary French higher education remains based on a complete year (undergraduate level or Licence 1, Master’s two, by way of instance ) instead of being split into semesters.

The federal institute for technology credentials supplies technology colleges with certification, thus permitting them to award those amounts.

No predetermined pair of equivalences between French and international degrees is formally acknowledged in France.

Every Licence and Master’s is described as per a field of research, a specialisation along with a route.  As an example, there’s a Master’s at the”Science, Technology and Health” field leading to”Fundamental and Applied Mathematics” that follows the”Probability and Statistics” course.
